Pixar’s Inside Out may not have topped the box office over the weekend, but Disney still had plenty of reason to celebrate as the movie opened to a mind-blowing $91 million. It is the first Pixar movie not to open at #1 but their second best debut ever, behind Toy Story 3 which made $110 million back in 2010. The thing everyone seems to be talking about, however, is the fact that it surpassed Avatar as the best opening ever for an original work that is not a sequel or adaptation. Now that’s impressive. Jurassic World stayed on top with another $102 million, bringing its worldwide total to $981 million after just 10 days. It should easily break Furious 7‘s record as the fastest film to $1 billion. Elsewhere, Spy and San Andreas dropped to third and fourth while Dope rounded out the top 5. The indie drama was acquired for $7 million at Sundance and it looks like Open Road Films will make that money back and then some.

1. Jurassic World — $102.02M
2. Inside Out — $91.06M
3. Spy — $10.5M
4. San Andreas — $8.24M
5. Dope — $6.02M
6. Insidious: Chapter 3 — $4.11M
7. Pitch Perfect 2 — $3.3M
8. Mad Max: Fury Road — $2.82M
9. The Avengers: Age of Ultron — $2.72M
10. Tomorrowland — $2.01M
