Dragon Blade Trailer Starring Jackie Chan, John Cusack and Adrien Brody

dragonblade

Despite persistent rumours that Jackie Chan may soon retire from action movies, for now he still appears to be keeping himself busy. Earlier this month saw the release of Police Story: Lockdown in North America, and this fall we will get Dragon Blade, which has already become one of the highest grossing movies of all-time in China. This is not your typical Jackie Chan martial arts flick, however; instead it is a historical epic that revolves around the fight for the Silk Road during the Han Dynasty. John Cusack and Adrien Brody also co-star, which in itself seems like a bad sign, but based on this trailer Brody at least looks like he’s having fun playing a villain. Dragon Blade is directed by Daniel Lee (14 Blade, Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon) and hits select theatres and VOD on Sept. 4th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

John Cusack and Adrien Brody confuse me. They are both hugely talented and have had some incredible and iconic roles, but they both choose incredible clunkers. What’s weirder is that they are always consistently good in their roles, regardless of how shitty the film is.

  • ReelJunkie

John Cusack looks ridiculous and totally out of his element.

  • Glen

why does Adrien Brody have an English accent?

  • Henrik

Just another example of having Dragon in the title and having nothing to do with dragons…

  • Lori Cerny

Fully agree. I now feel compelled to see this film because of the odd casting choices.

Worldwide phenomenon? What a load of crap, haha.

maybe there’s not much else they had proposed to them, you know.
