New to Theatres This Weekend: Entourage, Spy, Insidious: Chapter 3

We’re in for a battle of the sexes at the box office this weekend as the male-oriented bro culture of Entourage faces off against the female-fronted action-comedy Spy starring Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy proved to be a major draw when she teamed up with Sandra Bullock in The Heat but can she put up similar numbers without Bullock? Not to be counted out, Insidious: Chapter 3 is also opening in wide release this weekend although without the original cast it’s unlikely to do as well as Chapter 2 did. In select theatres, we also have the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy, Jackie Chan’s sixth Police Story flick Police Story: Lockdown, the period drama Testament of Youth starring Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington. What will you be watching this weekend?

Love & Mercy tonight (with a little bit of mud and bud). Entourage (begrudgingly) with my little brother tomorrow. Spy (with cautious optimism) on Sunday.

“Insidious: Chapter 3″ was the surprise winner at the Friday box office, beating both “Spy” and “Entourage”.

So low-budget horror kicked the balls of two big budget comedies?
I´m lovin it, Frank, i´m not gonna lie~
