Although the mockumentary format has been mostly run into the ground by network TV over the past few years, it’s nice to see that people haven’t completely abandoned it elsewhere. 7 Days in Hell is an upcoming fictional documentary about an epic Wimbledon match between tennis rivals Aaron Williams and Charles Poole (played by Andy Samberg and Game of Thrones star Kit Harington). Directed by Jake Szymanski (SNL, Funny or Die Presents), the movie also features appearances by Lena Dunham, Mary Steenburgen, Michael Sheen, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Karen Gillan and various real-life tennis superstars. With a running time of just 43 minutes, it also seems like it will wisely avoid overstaying its welcome . 7 Days in Hell premieres on HBO on July 11th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
