I loved them all in Jr High, but trying to revisit them nowadays is tough...they really go off the rails after wasteland and get indulgent and silly. The Gunslinger is still pretty great though. Be great to see it as a stark The Rover-type movie.

I have a hard time believing that this series will ever actually happen, but I'm still so curious to see someone try it. The first book especially feels like it would be a killer movie - there's so much mystery and subtlety about the world in which it's set, I'd be happy if it were just made as a standalone movie. It's a really great start to a series that ultimately get's pretty ridiculous.

Yeah we were considering this around the time the Carrie remake came out. I think it would be fun but there are a ton of movies to consider, especially if you include non-horror stuff. I would think Maximum Overdrive is also a must considering that King directed it himself.

Despite all the praise for these novels, I just can't bring myself to read them.

However, this article makes me want a Stephen King premium. Something along the line of, how well did the director adapt the story, are the movies better than the books, what are the themes, is King's oeuvre still relevant, and do the horror elements hold up.

Let's see, I think these would be good to watch/re-watch: Misery, It, The Shining, Carrie, Pet Semetary, and The Dead Zone.
