Chris Pine is one of those guys who seems to show up on casting wishlists for just about every major blockbuster and earlier this year we heard that he might be landing a big role in an upcoming comic book movie. At the time, it was being reported that Pine was the top choice to play Green Lantern in the Justice League movie (supposedly, it was the second time he had been courted for the role), but nothing seemed to come of it. Now this week we are hearing that he will indeed appear in the DC Cinematic Universe, but not in the role that you might expect. It turns out that Chris Pine will play the love interest in Wonder Woman, which is perfect because we all know his real-life superpower is romancing the ladies. Hit the jump for more details.

According to Variety, Chris Pine is currently in talks to play Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. He would star opposite Gal Gadot as the love interest for Diana Prince / Wonder Woman. In the original comics, Trevor was an intelligence officer in the U.S. military whose plane crash landed near Paradise Island. After Amazon princess Diana nursed him back to health, she fell in love with him and left Paradise Island to follow him home.

A few months back, Latino Review was reporting that Scott Eastwood had actually landed the role of Steve Trevor and that he would also have a cameo in Suicide Squad. It now looks as though that is not the case and Eastwood’s role in Suicide Squad is currently unknown. Wonder Woman is being directed by Patty Jenkins and will hit theatres on June 23rd, 2017. Do you think Chris Pine will make a fine Steve Trevor?

He’ll be fine as long as he’s not the leading man. The guy isn’t a leading man…he’s got no charisma and you can see it in the way he plays Kirk…all fluff no substance. Plus his movies as a leading man (This means War and Jack Ryan shadow recruit) didn’t actually light the world on fire.

Now how about Scott Eastwood as Green Lantern? He would make a a good Jonah Hex too.
