Minority Report TV Series Trailer

minorityreporttv

There is an insane number of TV shows based on movies currently in development right now, and Fox just added another one to their 2015 fall line-up courtesy of Amblin Entertainment. Minority Report is, of course, based on the 2002 Spielberg movie of the same name, but it acts as a sequel, taking place several years later with the PreCrime program having been discontinued. There is still one precog who is still getting glimpses into the future, however, and with the help of a detective, he may yet put his gift to good use. The pilot was written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and directed by Mark Mylod (Entourage, Game of Thrones) with Spielberg on board as executive producer. The cast includes Stark Sands, Meagan Good, Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall; check out the first official trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Is it just me or does this just spit in the face of the movie? Wasn’t the theme in the movie to not arrest people before they do something? That pre-crime was morally corrupt? Now it’s just psychic cop show.

Can’t wait to build a BBQ with this puppy on in the background.

From Tom Cruise to this schmuck?! Gimme a break.

Speaking of TV-series adaptations of movies, did anyone ever check out that Twelve Monkeys TV show?

  • Deven Science

The budget on this show looks decent.

  • Alicia Stella

    iZombie already did it.

That’s exactly what I thought as well. They discontinued that pre-cog stuff for a reason..?
This looks like yet another generic sci-fi cop show in the vein of Fringe, Almost Human etc. These clips were all probably from the pilot where the budget is the biggest, so it looks decent.
Who knows, maybe it turns out great but the trailer didn’t leave me amazed. :)
