First Full Cast Photo from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad

Following up on last week’s polarizing image of Jared Leto as The Joker, David Ayer released another new photo from his upcoming Suicide Squad movie over the weekend to try and steer the conversation elsewhere. The entire line-up of Task Force X has been revealed, which includes the following characters: Slipknot (played by Adam Beach), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and El Diablo (Jay Hernandez). The Joker is not included, leaving it unclear as to whether or not he will actually look like the previous released image in the film.     I really like the look of Harley Quinn. Looking forward to seeing her character.

    I personally like the look of everyone, especially after the lame ass Joker. I just hope that Harley Quinn is unbearably annoying. Enchantress looks pretty awesome as does Killer Croc and el Diablo. They seems to be taking inspiration from the Brian Azzarello/Lee Bermejo graphic novel Joker from a few years ago. Probably not the Joker/Harley dynamic from that though.

    Katana is the only one standing out as kinda weak to me.

    All in all, happy to see some weirdness here.

    Margot Robbie looks great but what on earth have they done to Cara Delevingne? Isn’t Enchantress supposed to look enchanting? I mean, I’m sure she’ll look fine in the actual footage but she looks weird in this pic. I always thought she should have been Harley Quinn and Robbie Enchantress, but there you go. Anyway, I have no expectations on this so it might turn out to be a nice surprise.

    These things always look like shit, it should look better in the actual movie. Katana especially looks straight out of a con. And deadshot’s red gun looks like crap.

    Also, it looks better than a bad tv adaptation…have you ever tried watching Gotham?

    That’s what I thought at first too but then I realized its just a promo image. Maybe in the actual film footage it will look better.

    Pretty obvious that they are drawing influence from Hindu sages. I really dig the look to be honest. It’s quite unique for a superhero.

    I always meant to start reading this, seemed like the best place to hang with Constantine after they killed his Vertigo series. I hated his solo title.
    I’m assuming the rumblings that del Toro was going to direct a movie for the team amounted to nothing.

    Nah. Ignoring who they cast for a moment, a Kirby-esque look just wouldn’t fit in with how all the movies are looking. She would look like January Jones as Emma Frost or some shit. That would look like complete stupid bullshit.

    Besides, maybe she will take a shower at some point in the movie and look better?

    I do think she’ll look better in the actual film. In fact I’d be shocked if she didn’t. Like I said in another comment, why cast a stunner like Cara only to make her look like shit, doesn’t make sense so I’m sure she’ll look different at some point. I also agree that it doesn’t quite fit in with the DC look right now, but there are ways of making the characters look reminiscent to the comics without going full out. In this picture she just looks like she’s lived in garbage for a week.

    I am interested to see how Cara’s acting career plays out actually. Haven’t seen any of her acting yet, but I’m sure she’ll be fine. She seems to be fairly talented person, she can sing and play drums and a bit of guitar as well as I understand, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a decent actress as well.

    I much rather prefer something a little offbeat like this than going with a traditional interpretation. And I don’t know anything about the Suicide Squad comic so that’s keeps me open to anything I guess.

    Me neither, I just wanted her to look hot. I guess maybe they’re doing the whole “put glasses on a hot chick to make her look less hot and then when she takes the glasses off she looks amazing” kind of thing.
