Well it’s no surprise that Universal Pictures officially announced Furious 8 last week, because Furious 7 has just completely dominated the entire month of April at the box office, bringing its current worldwide total to $1.32 billion. That puts it past Frozen to become the fifth highest grossing movie of all time and it could still move up a few spots beyond that. That being said, there’s no way it will top the box office five weeks in a row since The Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in North America next weekend after taking in $201 million internationally this past weekend. Elsewhere, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 held on to the #2 spot while The Age of Adaline debuted in third. Home and Unfriended rounded out the top 5. In sixth place, Ex Machina also had a successful expansion to over 1000 screens after two solid weeks in limited release.

1. Furious 7 — $18.26M
2, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 — $15.5M
3. The Age of Adaline — $13.38M
4. Home — $8.3M
5. Unfriended — $6.24M
6. Ex Machina — $5.44M
7. The Longest Ride — $4.37M
8. Get Hard — $3.91M

I still can’t believe you guys liked that turd of a movie. But I guess you weren’t the only ones! I guess it’s a good thing that people are still paying money to go see stuff at the movies…I just wish it wasn’t this stuff.
