Monday Morning Box Office Report: Furious 7 Still Owns the Road

Furious 7 stayed in full control of the box office for the second weekend in a row as the movie dropped an estimated 59% but still earned over $60 million. That makes it the highest-grossing movie in the series, and after setting a new opening day record in China yesterday, it seems clear that the rest of the world is also having an incredibly strong turnout for the film. The animated film Home held on to the #2 spot with $19 million while the only major new release, The Longest Ride, opened in third place with $13.5 million. That’s not bad considering there were no major stars involved. Get Hard fell to #4 while Cinderella rounded out the top 5. Elsewhere, both Danny Collins and While We’re Young managed to sneak into the top 10, with the latter earning the best single weekend ever for Noah Baumbach.
