After sitting on a shelf for four years, James Franco’s SNL documentary Saturday Night finally saw the light of day earlier this year courtesy of Hulu. Of course, it was a little more raw than most people expected and composed entirely of fly-on-the-wall footage. If you were hoping for something a little more glossy that offers some historical context for the long-running show, you might be interested in Live From New York!, another upcoming doc on the same subject by Bao Nguyen. The movie will open the Tribeca Film Festival next week before getting a limited theatrical release on June 12th. Check out the official trailer after the jump and see what you think.
