When the next season of True Detective arrives on HBO in June, it will be accompanied by a couple of brand new shows including this one from executive producer Jay Roach (Recount, Game Change). The Brink is another political satire not entirely unlike Veep, but this one revolves around a sleazy Secretary of State (Tim Robbins) and a low-ranking foreign service officer (Jack Black). The show pokes fun at geopolitics and foreign relations with the first season involving a terror threat in Pakistan. The supporting cast also includes Pablo Schreiber and Aasif Mandvi, who is a writer and producer on the show. The Brink is co-created by Roberto Benabib (Weeds) and it premieres on June 21st.
