There aren’t very many major releases on DVD and Blu-ray this week, but if you happen to be a fan of either Ryan Reynolds or Burt Reynolds, you might be in luck. J.C. Chandor’s crime drama A Most Violent Year hits stores this week, along with James Gray’s The Immigrant starring Marion Cotillard and the dark comedy The Voices starring Ryan Reynolds. Other new releases include Amir Bar-Lev’s Penn State documentary Happy Valley and the Fast & Furious spoof Superfast!, plus we have a couple of noteworthy TV releases including the acclaimed first season of WGN America’s Manhattan and the HBO documentary series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. On Blu-ray, we’ve got the Burt Reynolds cult classics Hooper and Sharky’s Machine, a handful of ’90s flicks like Singles, Empire Records and Detroit Rock City, and Tobe Hooper’s Invaders from Mars remake.
