Shooting Clerks Teaser Trailer: A Crowdfunded Kevin Smith Biopic

When Kevin Smith’s directorial debut Clerks was released back in 1994, it inspired an entire generation of budding filmmakers to pursue their dream. Now, some 20 years later, another aspiring director is making his first feature film by retelling the story of how Smith pursued his own dream. Entitled Shooting Clerks, the movie originally sought funding on Indiegogo and failed to meet their goal, but despite the setback it is now apparently close to being completed. Smith has given the entire project his blessing and even makes a cameo, but make no mistake this is still a scrappy low budget indie flick. There is talk that Shooting Clerks will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September although I’m not sure if that is confirmed. Either way, you can check out the first teaser trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

  • One of the things That Clerks has going for it is some nice black and white cinematography. It looks shitty, but it doesn’t look like shit.
