Maggie Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Daughter is a Zombie

We’ve been hearing about the Arnold Schwarzenegger zombie flick Maggie for a while now, and in fact, the film was supposed to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year but Lionsgate pulled it from the line-up after acquiring the distribution rights. At the time, it was unclear if that was a good sign or bad sign, but now the movie is finally about to see the light of day. The first trailer has arrived online ahead of its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month.
It looks like a slightly different take on the zombie genre and falls much more in the realm of quiet family drama than gory action film. Schwarzenegger plays a father who is determined to protect his daughter (played by Abigail Breslin) even after she is bitten and slowly transforms into a zombie. Whether or not Arnie has the acting chops to pull off this kind of role remains to be seen, but you have to give him credit for trying. Maggie is directed by title sequence designer Henry Hobson and hits select theatres on May 8th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
