Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation Trailer

mi5trailer

Although Tom Cruise has struggled to find another blockbuster franchise to add to his portfolio in recent years, the Mission: Impossible series has continued to be a pretty reliable property. The last installment made $694 million worldwide, and although director Brad Bird has been replaced by Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) this time around, Cruise and his cohorts are clearly continuing to bring some cutting edge action sequences and stuntwork to the table. The plane sequence in particular seems to be the coup de grace this time around.

The story revolves around a rogue organization known as The Syndicate who are dedicated to destroying the IMF. This is an organization from the original TV series, apparently making its debut on the big screen. Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are all returning while new additions to the cast include Alec Baldwin, Simon McBurney, Sean Harris and Rebecca Ferguson. Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation hits theatres on July 31st; check out the first full trailer and the initial teaser after the jump and let us know what you think.

Looks like another fun MI film is on the way!

I love this franchise, seriously some of the best action cinema around, and this looks fantastic. Only question is, now that they dropped the numbering system for the sequels, is this gonna start getting confusing?

    Damn, that man can run.

    Lacks Michelle Monaghan.

Looks solid to me and my man Tom always delivers the goods.

Looks like it might be fun, but I’m still a little worried about the director. I did not like Jack Reacher. (the casting of Herzog was brilliant though)

  • Does it seem like the lead lady Rebecca Ferguson is made up to look A LOT like Michelle Monaghan? If so there has to be something in the plot dealing with this, assuming that’s what his line “We’ve never met before, right?” is referring to…

  • Sean

Interesting theory. Her character name is suspiciously absent on IMDb.

I think that line refers to the fact of their fighting coordination in that scene. She does like a lot like Monaghan though. I hope they at least mention her oder let her cameo like in Ghost Protocol. That relationship was the only good thing coming out of M:I 3.
