New to Theatres This Weekend: Chappie, Unfinished Business, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Leaving the bleakness of January and February behind, we usually have some better quality films to look forward to in March. Unfortunately, March isn’t looking all that great this year either. Neill Blomkamp leads off the month with his latest sci-fi film Chappie, and although it has some star power from Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver, it’s likely to be his least successful opening weekend to date. Other major releases include the Vince Vaughn comedy Unfinished Business, which seems to be going completely under the radar, and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (which, like Chappie, also stars Dev Patel). The latter could be a surprise hit like its predecessor, but it is playing on far fewer screens than the other two films. In select theatres, we have the Adam Carolla comedy Road Hard and a couple of interesting documentaries including Robert Kenner’s lobbyist doc Merchants of Doubt and The Amazing Randi film An Honest Liar.
