Weekly Poll Results: Best Michael Mann Movie

No surprises here… Michael Mann’s epic heist film Heat took first place in last week’s poll with a commanding 52% of the votes. It was a little more interesting to see what came after that, as five other films fought hard for second place with just a handful of votes separating them. In the end, Collateral took the #2 spot, beating The Insider by just a single vote. The Last of the Mohicans and Thief rounded out the top 5. His two made-for-TV movies, L.A. Takedown and The Jericho Mile were tied at the bottom, but probably more due to lack of availability more than anything else. Do you agree with these results?

1. Heat — 52%
2. Collateral — 10%
3. The Insider — 10%
4. The Last of the Mohicans — 9%
5. Thief — 8%
6. Manhunter — 7%
7. Public Enemies — 2%
8. Ali — 1%
9. Blackhat — 1%
9. Miami Vice — 1%
11. The Keep — 1%
12. L.A. Takedown — 0%
12. The Jericho Mile — 0%

I can’t stand Miami Vice, so glad to see it tank in the votes. I haven’t seen the bottom two films but they can’t possible be worse than that piece of shit movie.

Anyone who didnt vote for Last Of The Mohicans is some kind of jerk.

Surprised Thief didn’t get more love.

Bet a lot haven’t seen it.
Manages to tell its story in 2 hrs without pointless sub-plots and hammy overacting.

Just got Thief on Criterion. Pretty excited to look at it.

The irony is that Last of the Mohicans feels like his longest movie (really drags at times) and yet it’s among his shortest feature lengths; I never saw the Keep.

    The Keep is awesome.
Especially considering how Paramount fucked him by cutting it to pieces.
It’s sadly only available via a shitty streaming version, but still worth a rent.
