Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs Biopic Gets an Official Cast

Just a few months after Universal Pictures acquired the long-gestating Steve Jobs biopic from Sony, they have managed to do what Sony couldn’t: put it in front of a camera. This week Universal announced that they have kicked off principal photography on the film, which is now officially titled simply Steve Jobs. It would appear that all of the deals are in place and after so many rumours and delays, this thing is actually happening. As previously reported, Danny Boyle is directing and Michael Fassbender is playing the late Apple founder while the rest of the cast has also been confirmed. The full line-up is as follows:
- Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs
- Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak
- Kate Winslet as former Macintosh marketing boss Joanna Hoffman
- Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley
- Katherine Waterston as Jobs’ ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan
- Michael Stuhlbarg as one of the Mac’s original developers Andy Hertzfeld
- Perla Haney-Jardine as Lisa Jobs
- Ripley Sobo as Lisa Jobs (at age 9)
- Makenzie Moss as Lisa Jobs (at age 5)
- Sarah Snook as Jobs’ publicist Andrea “Andy” Cunningham
- Adam Shapiro as Avie Tevanian, Senior VP of Software Engineering at Apple
The script was written by Aaron Sorkin and based on the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson. Steve Jobs does not yet have an official release date and it is still unclear if it could hit theaters by the end of this year. What do you think of the full cast? Are you looking forward to this movie or are you just sick of hearing about it?
