Sisters TV Spot Starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Despite their irrefutable success on the small screen, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s movie careers have mostly remained relatively low key thus far. However, that’s not to say that the prospect of another big screen collaboration between the two isn’t exciting. Much like Baby Mama, they aren’t writing or directing the upcoming comedy Sisters, but it still looks to have some decent potential.

Directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) and written by Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live), the story revolves around two thirty-something sisters who return home to find that their parents’ house is up for sale. So naturally, they decide to throw a crazy party there in order to give it a proper farewell. A short TV spot for the film aired during the Golden Globes last night, and now it is online for your viewing pleasure. Sisters hits theatres on Dec. 18th; check out the TV spot after the jump and let us know what you think.

I thought Amy and Tina were the hilarious on the globes and pretty ballsy (chicks can be ‘ballsy’ right?) so label me as a fan of these too BUT I really don’t understand why we need a trailer 11 months out from the release date for a comedy…it doesn’t really lend itself to rampant fan speculation or a steady hype build up like a blockbuster. I simply can’t maintain an anticipation erection for this long and I may grow to resent them by the time of release.

In case of Tina Fey “thirty-something” can only mean 39 – and even that would be humbling.

I guess they’re cashing in on some of the Golden Globes euphoria…
