Film Junk Poll: What is Your Most Anticipated Movie of 2015?

poll2015anticipated

If last year was a bit of a weak showing for the movie industry as a whole, I don’t think studio execs are particularly worried considering that 2015 is poised to be one of the biggest years ever for blockbuster sequels and remakes. While there is no guarantee that any of these movies will actually be any good, there are still plenty of reasons to get excited about going to the theatre this year. So now that we’ve finished looking back at the best and worst films of 2014, it’s time to take a look at what lies ahead. I tried to keep the list of poll options to a manageable number but as you might expect there are quite a few worthwhile entries that didn’t make the cut. What is your most anticipated movie of 2015? Cast your vote in this week’s poll and then continue the discussion in the comments below.

One actually near the top of my list is Jupiter Ascending. The Wachowskis are very hit and miss as far as the box office goes, but I’ve really liked most of what they’ve done (other than the Matrix sequels).

  • pcch7

Fury Road easily, which says a lot.

  • ReelJunkie

As much as I wanted to go with Spielberg/Tom Hanks’ thriller, I caved in and went with Star Wars: The Force Awakens

  • I’m obviously excited for Star Wars but the trailers for Mad Max have been blowing me away. Fury Road all the way.

  • Indianamcclain

I wanted to vote for both.

  • Alicia Stella

The title of the poll says 2014, fyi.

  • Kenneth Serenyi

Avengers for the first half and Star Wars for the second half.

  • T. Heilman

    Yes, the only correct answer.

  • Lisa

    Inherent fucking Vice?

And the title “What is Your Most Anticipated Movie of 2014?” is also wrong.

  • Professor Nutsack

Really, this should just be re-titled, Your Most Anticipated Movie of 2015 (After Star Wars)?

  • Azazel

The only ones that i really care about are The Hateful Eight and Knight of Cups. I’ll end up checking out a couple more like Star Wars and Mad Max, a bit curious about Chappie but i’m not building any expectations to most of them.
