New to Theatres This Weekend: The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, [REC] 4: Apocalypse, A Most Violent Year

As we have come to expect, the first big release of the new year is a somewhat dubious horror flick, that being The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. This is a sequel to the 2012 film starring Daniel Radcliffe, but Radcliffe is not involved this time around… go figure. It seems unlikely to threaten some of the big holiday releases at the box office, but I suppose stranger things have happened. In select theatres, we also have the fourth and probably final [REC] film, [REC] 4: Apocalypse, which is simultaneously debuting on VOD, while J.C. Chandor’s well-reviewed crime drama A Most Violent Year starring Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain arrives on just a handful of screens in New York and Los Angeles, qualifying it for awards season. What will you be watching this weekend?

“but Radcliffe is not involved this time around… go figure.”

What do you mean by “go figure”?

Just that it’s not surprising he’s not back for a sequel.

oh okay. I thought the first Woman in Black was really good. I liked it way more than The Conjuring. I’m looking forward to this one as well.
