First Official Photo from Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is one of the few big 2015 summer blockbusters we have yet to see a trailer from, but it seems safe to assume that we’ll probably be getting one in the very near future. In the meantime, Warner Brothers has released the first official photo from the movie, showing Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) taking on the roles popularized by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum in the original ’60s spy series. Alicia Vikander, Jared Harris and Hugh Grant also co-star. Although Guy Ritchie seems like a bit of a step down from Steven Soderbergh, who was originally attached to direct, the good news is that they are keeping it as a period piece set during the height of the Cold War. For the moment, I remain somewhat optimistic. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. hits theatres on Aug. 14th; check out the first photo after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Jeeeez Henry Cavill looks like he’s about bust out of that 60’s suit! Can’t imagine him in the role but hope he pulls it off. Hammer I can definitely see and he sure needs a hit after the Lone Ranger though I do think he emerged from the whole ordeal pretty unscathed.

    I would have preferred Soderbergh cause I’m not a huge fan of Ritchie especially after what he did to Sherlock Holmes. Though Moffat’s Holmes starring Cumberbatch certainly and quickly made up for that Guy Ritchie poser movie.
