Film Junk Poll: What is the Best Peter Jackson Movie?

Lately it seems that these Film Junk polls aren’t happening weekly anymore since we’re running out of obvious topics, but the arrival of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is a good excuse to bring them back to examine the filmography of Mr. Peter Jackson. When I first started thinking about this poll, it didn’t seem like it would be all that interesting, especially since a big chunk of his filmography is composed of two related trilogies. However, there are still a lot of genre fans who love his earlier films and even within the Tolkien adaptations there is plenty of debate over which is his best work. I’m sure some would argue he is still pushing boundaries and growing as a filmmaker, while others will be quick to insist he has already peaked. So what do you think is Peter Jackson’s finest work to date? Cast your vote in this week’s poll and then sound off in the comments below.

The first LoTR-movie was great. Genuinely good in all aspects. Not cheesy, not overly long, not too pretentious. Relevant and important all the way. Great movie.

I voted for Return of the King, but I love the whole trilogy, and King Kong.

  • Tommy

I’ll beat up all of you LoTR voters.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one voting for Meet the Feebles.

I rented Bad Taste every other weekend I think, definitely my favorite Peter Jackson joint. LOTR: Fellowship is his best though.

Can we vote for worst and agree that it’s ‘Battle of the Five Armies’? Without a doubt, his worst.
