New to Theatres This Weekend: The Pyramid, Wild, Pioneer

I’m not entirely sure why the first weekend in December has been designated a no fly zone for new movies, but apparently it has something to do with the start of the Christmas season and the assumption that potential moviegoers have other commitments. Either way, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will have absolutely no competition this weekend as the Alexandre Aja-produced horror flick The Pyramid is the only major new release and it is playing on just under 600 screens. In select theatres, Jean-Marc Vallee’s Wild is probably the most noteworthy release and could very well bring Reese Witherspoon another Oscar come February. Also in limited release we have the Israeli war comedy Zero Motivation and the Norwegian deep sea diving thriller Pioneer. What will you be watching this weekend?
- The Pyramid (semi-wide)
- Wild (limited)
- Comet (limited)
- Pioneer (limited)
- Zero Motivation (limited)
- Life Partners (limited)
- She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry (limited)
