Mozart In The Jungle Trailer: An Amazon Original Series from Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman

Although Amazon still has a ways to go before they can hope to rival Netflix’s line-up of original TV series, they do have a few hits under their belts including the political comedy Alpha House and the critically acclaimed transgender dramedy Transparent. Now this month they will debut the first season of a new show called Mozart In The Jungle, a strange concoction of comedy, drama and fantasy from producers Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Weitz. Based on the memoir of classical musician Blair Tindall, the series stars Gael Garcia Bernal as a hip, young conductor who joins a New York City orchestra and shakes things up both on-stage and off. Between this and Behind the Candelabra, it’s pretty clear that the world of classical music can be just as outrageous as rock and roll. Mozart in the Jungle arrives on Amazon Prime on Dec. 23rd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
