It was another easy victory for The Hunger Games franchise over the Thanksgiving weekend as Mockingjay – Part 1 added another $56 million to its total. The penultimate installment in the series has now earned $480 million worldwide and should have another week free and clear before it faces any tough competition. Meanwhile, DreamWorks had another disappointment on their hands as the animated spin-off Penguins of Madagascar debuted to just $25.8 million, less than half of what the previous two Madagascar movies made. Big Hero 6 and Interstellar dropped to #3 and #4 respectively, while Horrible Bosses 2 opened in fifth place with a lacklustre $15.7 million. Elsewhere, the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything expanded to over 800 screens and jumped into the top 10 with a solid $5 million.
