Monday Morning Box Office Report: Dumb and Dumber To Pranks Moviegoers

It was another tight race at the box office this past weekend, but ultimately The Farrelly Brothers came out on top as Dumb and Dumber To opened to a very healthy $38 million. That’s their biggest debut ever and also Jim Carrey’s best in over a decade. Apparently sequels pay off, even when they’re twenty years late. Meanwhile Disney’s Big Hero 6 was a close second with $36 million, while Interstellar dropped to third with $29 million. Beyond the Lights and Gone Girl rounded out the top 5. Next weekend, we can probably expect everything listed here to be obliterated by The Hunger Games.
1. Dumb and Dumber To — $38.05M
2. Big Hero 6 — $36.01M
3. Interstellar — $29.19M
4. Beyond the Lights — $6.50M
5. Gone Girl — $4.63M
6. St. Vincent — $4.03M
7. Fury — $3.81M
8. Nightcrawler — $3.04M
9. Ouija — $3.03M
10. Birdman — $2.45M
