Although Monsters University wasn’t nominated for an Oscar last year, the fact that there isn’t a Pixar movie at all this year means that the Best Animated Feature race is wide open. A total of 20 films have been submitted for consideration and The Lego Movie, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Big Hero 6 all seem like strong contenders. But could there be room for something like Song of the Sea to sneak in there as well? Tomm Moore’s last film The Secret of Kells was nominated back in 2009, and this looks to have a similar art style and also draws from Irish folklore. Song of the Sea hits select theatres on Dec. 19th, 2014; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
