Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland Teaser Trailer Starring George Clooney

tomorrowland

There has been an air of mystery and secrecy surrounding Brad Bird’s upcoming film Tomorrowland ever since it was first announced, which isn’t a huge surprise considering that it is also co-written and produced by Damon Lindelof (no, J.J. Abrams is not involved). We knew that it would be based loosely on the Disney theme park attraction of the same name, but we didn’t know much beyond that. Fortunately, we’re finally getting our first taste of the movie this week as the teaser trailer premiered at the New York Comic Con and now it has dropped online as well.

The story revolves around a former boy-genius (played by George Clooney) and a bright, optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) who “embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as Tomorrowland.” That’s pretty vague, but in the trailer we see there is also a pin that can instantly teleport you to this alternate world, which may or may not be a retro version of the future. What do you think it all means? Tomorrowland hits theatres on May 22nd, 2015; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

I didn’t realize that by force feeding myself season 1 of The Leftovers I’d be so uncomfortable to see Damon Lindelof’s name again… but fuck it, it’s Brad Bird so of course I’m on board.

    so is this like political?

If only this wasn’t going to get completely slaughtered by The Avengers box office wise.

Damon Lindelof….uuuughhhh…..Brad Bird George Clooney…Yeahhhhh Babyyy!!!!!

In spite of DL being attached I am in for this! Brad Bird and Clooney…now that is the nice combo!!!

I’m really torn on this. On the one hand Lindelof is hot garbage, on the other a The Cloon/Brad Bird combo is pretty sexy.

That was a really well done trailer. It showed enough to get you interested, but didn’t give the entire film away. Unfortunately, 5 trailers from now that’ll be different.
