New on Netflix: The Double, Hoop Dreams, Print the Legend

netflixthedouble

Not a particularly exciting week for new additions on Netflix Instant, but it’s usually a little dead right before the end of the month. The biggest new title in the U.S. this week is Richard Ayoade’s The Double starring Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska. Some worthwhile older films that have also been added include The Firm starring Tom Cruise, Steve James’ classic documentary Hoop Dreams, and Suddenly, a 1954 film noir starring Frank Sinatra as a man plotting to kill the president. In Canada, there isn’t a whole lot to talk about aside from a handful of animated flicks: Kung Fu Panda 2, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Ernest & Celestine. Fortunately, both regions will also be getting the 3D printing documentary Print the Legend as of tomorrow. See anything worth checking out? Scope out the full list of new additions after the jump.

I dunno. Hoop Dreams is kind of exciting. It’s a lot easier to suggest people watch a documentary when it’s available on Netflix, that’s for sure. And it’s a movie I’d like to suggest people watch.

I think I watched Hoop Dreams on youtube a couple years ago. Great movie. That guy’s brother got shot and killed working security after the film. Very sad.

Excited to watch The Firm, Reporter and Dream School. Thanks for the list, Sean! I’ve really been getting a lot out of it. You gave me a bunch of great stuff to watch last week. Please keep doing this.
