When it comes to the marketing campaigns for R-rated comedies, red band trailers are both the best and the worst. We all know that some movies cannot be properly summarized with a sanitized green band trailer, but the problem with red band trailers is that they only focus on being as “edgy” as possible. This is the case with the new trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s The Interview. Although the Kim Jong-un assassination premise seemed to have a lot of potential, based on this, it’s really just an excuse to put stuff up Seth Rogen’s butt. Here’s hoping the final product is slightly more… well-rounded. The Interview hits theatres on Dec. 25th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
