Tim Burton’s Big Eyes Trailer Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz

Although this year’s awards season is shaping up to be a little less crowded than usual, there are still a handful of potential Oscar contenders coming out later this year that we have heard almost nothing about. One of those movies is Big Eyes, Tim Burton’s return to more intimate filmmaking and a reunion with Ed Wood screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Just like Ed Wood, this one is a biopic about a well-known artist, but in this case the overall tone is a lot less quirky and comedic.
Christoph Waltz plays Walter Keane, a very successful painter during the ’50s and early ’60s, best known for his cartoony paintings of little girls with big eyes. It was later revealed that the true artist behind the paintings was his wife Margaret (Amy Adams), which caused a huge uproar and led her to file for a divorce and a lawsuit. Big Eyes hits theatres on Dec. 24th; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
