Liam Neeson to Star in Tell No One Remake

Although I’m not hearing a whole lot of buzz surrounding Liam Neeson’s next movie A Walk Among The Tombstones (which hits theatres this Friday), Universal seems eager to keep pumping out more action-thrillers with him in the lead role. Non-Stop was a decent hit for them earlier this year and now we’re hearing that they are looking to bring him on for their long gestating remake of the French film Tell No One. The original 2006 film, directed by Guillaume Canet and based on a novel by American author Harlan Coben, revolves around a man who is forced to go on the run after being framed for the murder of his own wife, who was killed eight years earlier. Does that sound like an ideal premise for a Liam Neeson movie? Yep, it sure does.

According to Deadline, the higher-ups at Universal Pictures are currently courting Liam Neeson to star in the U.S. remake of Tell No One. It’s still very early and no deals are currently in place as Neeson wants to rework the script before he officially signs on. The latest draft was written by Chris Terrio (Argo) although Andrew Dominik supposedly did some work on it previously as well.

It is still unclear who will be directing the film. Ben Affleck was attached to direct at one point (which also explains the involvement of Terrio) but scheduling forced him to drop out. After that, Warrior director Gavin O’Connor supposedly signed on, but now it sounds like the job may be up for grabs again. What do you think, are you looking forward to a Tell No One remake and is Liam Neeson the right man to star?
