It looks like the first weekend of September could be one of the slowest movie weekends of the year as the only major release hitting theatres is the Christian-themed Elvis Presley flick The Identical. In Canada, we are also getting Atom Egoyan’s poorly-reviewed thriller The Captive starring Ryan Reynolds. Beyond that, some IMAX theatres are also getting a 20th Anniversary re-release of Forrest Gump, and in limited release we also have raunchy German sex comedy Wetlands, the Ed Harris western Frontera, and Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch’s directorial debut God Help the Girl.
