I’ve been meaning to add a weekly Netflix column to the site for a while now, especially since the majority of our readers probably have no interest in DVD and Blu-ray releases anymore. So here you go… you’re welcome! I might experiment with the format a little bit over the next little while, but for now, the plan is to focus on U.S. and Canada only. Ideally I’d like to be able to include expiring titles as well, but from what I understand Netflix no longer makes that information available.

Highlights in the U.S. this month include the Robin Williams comedy Good Morning, Vietnam, P.T. Anderson’s There Will Be Blood, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Spaceballs, Crocodile Dundee, and a pair of ’90s Billy Bob Thornton thrillers: Sling Blade and A Simple Plan. Meanwhile, on Netflix Canada, they continue to bring fairly recent releases like The Dark Knight Rises, 12 Years a Slave and Snow White and the Huntsman along with some classics like Chinatown, The Untouchables and Forrest Gump.
