Terminator Reboot Gets an Official Title and Logo

terminatorgenisys

After months of referring to the upcoming Terminator reboot as “Untitled Terminator Reboot” or perhaps occasionally using the rumoured title, Terminator Genesis, we finally know what the movie will actually be called. As it turns out, the rumours weren’t far off, but they just couldn’t resist tweaking it to make it a little bit worse. The official title is Terminator Genisys. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. Production on the film has wrapped and Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed the title on Instagram where he also thanked the cast and crew for a fantastic shoot. Hit the jump to see an image of Arnold on set.

Purposely misspelled titles are the worst… aren’t they? Terminator Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung-hun Lee and Matt Smith. It hits theatres on July 1st, 2015. What do you think of the new title?

I assume it has to do with a cyberdyne project, or some other competing tech company in the Terminator universe, otherwise it really doesnt make any sense. Still shitty title though.

Is Tarantino the only one who is allowed to misspell titles?

Wow, this how you use your logo! SPOILERS Genisys is some kind of company or software, not just a cliched synergistic movie title. The logo told me a little story that sparked my imagination and made me a little interested to see what they do even if that last Terminator movie was one of the worst things I have ever seen in my entire life. Bravo!

CAVEAT If this is as bad as Thor 2, I have no interest.

I’m always up for a Terminator movie and I’m looking forward to seeing Clarke & Clarke. I’ve said it many times though, TSCC was amazing and they should have gotten some of those people involved.
