Disney’s Into the Woods Teaser Trailer Starring Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep

Just what we needed… yet another Disney live-action fairy tale. In this case, just one fairy tale wouldn’t cut it so they decided to throw a whole bunch of them together into one movie including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel. Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), Into the Woods is based on the Tony Award-winning musical and features a star-studded cast that includes Anna Kendrick, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine Emily Blunt and Johnny Depp. Unfortunately, the first teaser trailer feels like it wasn’t ready to show quite yet because it’s just a bunch of random disconnected clips. Then again, maybe that’s what the final movie will feel like too. Into the Woods hits theatres on Dec. 25th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

    A few years ago, I watched the filmed version of the musical and absolutely loved it. It has a couple catchy tunes, quirky humor, and Bernadette Peters was beautiful and pitiable as the witch. I also watched the musical in Strafford, ON in 2008 and was still very charmed.

    With this in mind, I desperately wanted to see a movie version. Kendrick! Chris Pine! Streep! Good casting and we know each of them can sing.

    Johnny Depp… Oh, no… hammy Johnny Depp intruding into MY film?! Now I’m torn whether to see this film or not.
