New to Theatres This Weekend: Deliver Us from Evil, Tammy, Earth to Echo

moviestammy

Kind of a weak crop of new releases for a holiday weekend in the U.S., but that’s because Transformers: Age of Extinction is still swallowing up everything in its path. Michael Bay’s latest should easily pull off another box office victory with its closest competitor likely to be the Melissa McCarthy comedy Tammy. Still, there is a chance that Deliver Us from Evil could also be a surprise hit with the director of Sinister behind it. The Amblin-esque family sci-fi adventure film Earth to Echo is also in wide release but it’s not getting much of a marketing push and no one seems to know what it is. In select theatres, there are a few decent alternatives including the Roger Ebert documentary Life Itself and a re-release of The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. What will you be watching this weekend?

What are the plans for this weeks show? You should do a retro review of A Hard Days Night with Gerry as a guest.

It will be a new Movie Organization Manifesto episode.

I didn’t realize that people knew I was a Beatles’ aficionado. I’m currently reading a book that lists the recording details of each Beatles’ song.
