Following up on last week’s poll about musical biopics, here is yet another one scheduled to hit theatres later this year. Jimi: All is By My Side covers a year in the life of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, starting with his arrival as a relative unknown in London in 1966 and culminating with his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. Directed by screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Red Tails), it stars OutKast member Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000) in the lead role with Hayley Atwell as his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham.
