It’s been somewhat refreshing to see Kristen Wiig turn down a Bridesmaids sequel in favour of more intimate indie films (and eventually get a shot at making her directorial debut), but the truth is that a lot of these indie films have looked sort of bland and predictable in their own way. Both Hateship Loveship and Girl Most Likely were slammed by critics and they went mostly ignored by everyone else. That being said, her latest indie dramedy earned strong reviews at Sundance earlier this year and looks like it might be a winner.

The Skeleton Twins stars Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader as two twin siblings who reconnect at low points in their lives after nearly a decade spent apart. Directed by Craig Johnson (True Adolescents), it focuses on their journey as they goof off together and help each other turn their lives around.
