Update: Added a handful of new images from the film as well.

It’s been at least five years now since we first heard that George Miller was finally getting a Mad Max reboot / sequel off the ground and that Tom Hardy would be stepping into Mel Gibson’s boots in the lead role. Late last year Warner Brothers officially announced a 2015 release date, but still we have heard almost nothing about the film. Now it looks like they are ready to kick off a marketing campaign, starting with the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly. There still isn’t a whole lot of info here, but the image at least gives us our first good look at Hardy as Max Rockatansky along with Charlize Theron as a new character named Imperator Furiosa. Mad Max: Fury Road hits theatres on May 15th, 2015; check out the cover image after the jump and let us know what you think.
