Welcome back Sean, and thanks for selflessly letting Jay read my email. My dream has been realized. There were so many recs, I’m really excited to jump in. The frogs movie sounds awesome.

  • Lori Cerny

Reed will be on the Apes premium? Awesomeness.

  • Jay

    Welcome back Sean.

  • iammattz

    ooooooooooo-weeeeeee! The Maquis is back!

  • Indianamcclain

So there’s not gonna be a X-Men premium?

  • devolutionary

That episode has the potential to be another 2014 podcasting benchmark!

  • Lori Cerny

Re: Premiums… I love the Indy, the John Carpenter, Godzilla, and the Alien one; the discussion on Prometheus is pretty good.

  • Sam

Nope. Nor a Movies based on 80s Toys which was going to be the June premium.

  • Sam

I think I’ve listened to each premium at least twice (they are typically my go-to at work when I’m caught up on all podcasts I listen to).

Agree with the above and also Star Wars as mentioned in the show, but also remember liking the Die Hard one, Star Trek (Reed was great), and Lethal Weapon for the 15+ minute origin of “Mom mentality” alone

Also, a lot of good moments in the Dead Trilogy premium. “Hit and run? Hit and run!!”, and Jay’s #1 best moment being the same as Sean’s #1 worst moment. Recommend that one as well

  • Colin

I’m still waiting on the 90s video game movies (plus The Wizard) premium that was supposed to be a thing a year and a half ago.

  • devolutionary

It may not technically be their best but the I’ve laughed harder and more often during the Friday the 13th Premium than any of the others. I got sick after coming back from a festival and listened to that premium at least 4-5x. “It’s GOT a DEAAAATH CUUUUURSE!”

  • Sean

We’ll get to it eventually, either during a month where we have nothing planned or for when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres. But hey, not enough X-Men fans spoke up at the time, everyone said they wanted Godzilla!

  • Indianamcclain

I think Frank officially lost the right to complain about Sean’s post after the Edge of Tomorrow show.

  • devolutionary

If it floats your boat try Graveyard Shift (rats), The Beast (won’t spoil the creature if you care), Wolfen, White Buffalo (not really a horror though), and Alligator on for size as well.

  • Sam

Would toss in Long Weekend and Squirm

  • Indy is definitely one of the best for Jay and Frank’s duet of the Last Crusade score. I also really like the James Bond premium, and am looking forward to a pt 2. down the road.

  • tH

    The Beast with William Peterson?

  • jarny

    really enjoyed the GOT talk

  • Niklas

yep.. at this point Frank is way worse than anything Sean ever did. I like Frank but in this regard he just comes across as a stubborn asshole

  • T. Heilman

I am no Planet of the Apes fan, but I hope the premium will include “Revenge from Planet Ape”, a U.S. cut of Tombs of the Blind Dead that included a bizarre opening narration attempting to link it to the Apes series.
How centuries-old Templar knight zombies resemble human-monkey hybrids is beyond me but you gotta love exploitation-era marketing.

  • j-diggle

Frank Coraci did not direct 50 First Dates… I knew this off the top of my head… does that make me the new KOC?

  • Sean

The King has lost his crown.

  • Jamie Tainton

Hi Sean, Jay and Frank, just a quick note to say that this last podcast really brings to the forefront precisely the best mix of personalities, (speaking for myself) that Filmjunk is. I like how Jay expresses with no apologies his opinions and thoughts, and so does Frank, with Sean as a calming peacemaker and middle of the road frame of mind. I think without Sean the mix gets tilted too much. For me, though I don’t know Dax he seems to be less comfortable with taking a stand one way or another?
Reed is okay but needs to be less paranoid. LOL. Anyways love the podcast and really enjoy the camaraderie you guys display. Maybe bring Greg on as a guest when Sean’s not available?

  • Sean

Thanks Jamie. Dax is doing his best, he just doesn’t want to upset the vibe! We’ve been talking to Greg but can’t promise anything as of yet.

  • FDB

Don’t know if Shooting Bigfoot has been re-edited in any way since Hot Docs, but that final shot of the “bigfoot” face is pretty perfectly timed by the documentarian for him to not be in on it. I was confused when it was over, but got the impression he was in on it.

  • Myke

    I´d recommend these premium podcasts:
    – The Friday the 13th Franchise
=> it has a great “Psychoanalyzing Frank” segment, which is
a basic ingredient of the Filmjunk universe

    – The Robocop Trilogy
=> several masturbation freakouts by Jay, whose jerk-off
obsession is also a vital Filmjunk spice

  • Sam

Having gone back and just re-listened to a couple premiums, I have to reiterate that the Dead Trilogy premium is awesome.

If it truly is one of the least purchased premiums as Jay mentioned, that’s a shame. I urge people to give that a listen. A lot of great moments, which includes a lot of Jay shouting great quotes from the movies.

  • Andrew James

Sansa not being addressed? She has maybe the biggest character moment/transition of arguably the entire show.

SO much more than just water cooler moments. Frank you were part of one of our episode recaps on R3, there’s a TON of interesting stuff to get into with each episode.

  • FJK

The problem with the horror premium poodcasts might just be that Frank can´t really participate, because a) he has no respect for a genre that he quite frankly doesn´t understand in the slightest b) he´s the biggest pussy

  • Sam

Frank did a great job in the Dead Trilogy one at least. He does nitpick a bit with Night of the Living Dead, but he was open minded enough with all the movies though and liked the majority of them. Admittedly, the Dead Trilogy, while gory, aren’t really meant to be all that scary outside of the first.

But Frank is indeed a major pussy.

  • Kasper

So psyched about next weeks show with Matt Gourley. Hopefully he and Jay will get into some character work. If you don’t know who Gourley is, you should check The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project out: http://www.earwolf.com/show/the-andy-daly-podcast-pilot-project/

  • patrik

You’re gonna have to get used to getting new and important characters every season on GoT, Frank.
