There’s really only one major release on DVD and Blu-ray this week, and that is 300: Rise of an Empire, which did okay at the box office but fell far short of the original film. Some of the smaller films also hitting stores today include Denis Villeneuve’s Enemy starring Jake Gyllenhaal (and Jake Gyllenhaal), the Australian horror sequel Wolf Creek 2 and Akiva Goldman’s unfortunate directorial debut A Winter’s Tale. Worthwhile TV releases include the first seasons of both Showtime’s Master of Sex and FX’s The Bridge and on Blu-ray we’ve got the sixth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation plus the Criterion release of The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night.
