Monday Morning Box Office Report: Think Like a Man To Barely Beats 22 Jump Street

It was a pretty quiet weekend at the multiplexes as Think Like a Man Too topped the weekend box office but failed to improve on its predecessor, earning $30 million on a $24 million budget. It just narrowly defeated 22 Jump Street, which added another $29 million and could conceivably end up taking the lead once the final numbers are reported. Elsewhere How to Train Your Dragon 2 fell 49% in its second weekend, dashing hopes that it might hold better than expected over the next few weeks, while Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys debuted to a disappointing (but mostly expected) $13.5 million. That’s a better start than Clint Eastwood’s last few movies, but you’d think being based on a Broadway musical would have given it a bit of a boost. Maleficent rounded out the top 5. Clearly the stage is set for Transformers: Age of Extinction to put up some huge numbers next weekend.

1. Think Like a Man Too — $30M
2. 22 Jump Street — $29M
3. How to Train Your Dragon 2 — $25.3M
4. Jersey Boys — $13.5M
5. Maleficent — $13M
6. Edge of Tomorrow — $10.3M
7. The Fault in Our Stars — $8.6M
8. X-Men: Days of Future Past — $6.2M
9. Chef — $1.8M
10. Godzilla — $1.8M
