It’s pretty clear at this point that Disney is making money hand over fist from their live-action adaptations of classic animated fairy tales, so it should come as no surprise that they are also bringing these adaptations to the small screen as well. The ABC series Once Upon a Time is already doing quite well for them and will enter its fourth season later this year, and now they are developing a Disney Channel Original Movie called Descendants that will focus on the kids of many famous Disney characters. The story finds the kingdom’s worst villains exiled to the Isle of the Lost, but 20 years later their children are released and offered a chance at redemption.

The first official photo has found its way online this week and it shows off four of those children: Mal, daughter of Maleficent (played by Dove Cameron), Jay, son of Jafar (Booboo Stewart), Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen (Sofia Carson) and Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil (Cameron Boyce). If you ask me they look pretty ridiculous, but it’s a musical and a comedy so I guess that is somewhat fitting. Descendants is directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, This Is It) and is expected to air in 2015. Check out the first photo after the jump and see what you think.
