Life Itself Trailer: Roger Ebert’s Memoir Adapted for the Big Screen

After premiering to mostly rave reviews at Sundance earlier this year, the big screen adaptation of Roger Ebert’s memoir Life Itself will finally arrive in select theatres and on VOD this summer. Directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Steve James (Hoop Dreams), the film examines Ebert’s career, the dynamic he shared with his partner Gene Siskel, and the influence he had as quite possibly the most well-known film critic of all time. It also gets into his battle with cancer and his determination to keep working right up until the end. Clearly this is must-see material for anyone who has a passion for film and film criticism. Life Itself hits theatres and VOD on July 4th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
