Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service Trailer Starring Colin Firth

If you were a fan of Kick-Ass, you’ll be excited to hear that director Matthew Vaughn is once again reteaming with writer Mark Millar for another adaptation of one of Millar’s comics. This time around, however, it’s not a deconstruction of the superhero genre, but rather the spy genre instead. Much like Kick-Ass and Wanted, this is another one of Millar’s patented male fantasies, following a young thug who is recruited by his uncle to be a part of an elite team of secret agents.

Let’s face it, spy movies are hot right now, and this one seems like it should appeal to a younger audience more than most. Of course, the fact that it stars Colin Firth and Michael Caine will probably get some middle-aged folks interested as well. Being that it is Matthew Vaughn’s follow-up to X-Men: First Class, expectations will be high… but can it live up to Mark Millar’s self-perpetuating hype machine? Kingsman: The Secret Service hits theatres on Oct. 24th; check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Looks like a cross between Cody Banks and the 1998 Avengers film starring Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes, and Sean Connery.
