After months of rumours that The Weinstein Company would cut down Bong Joon-Ho’s Snowpiercer for its U.S. release, they apparently settled on releasing the original cut but only in select theatres. It would have been interesting to see the movie compete with some of the summer blockbusters in wide release, especially given that Chris Evans is in the lead role, but I think we all know how that would have turned out. Still, the first domestic trailer does a better job of showcasing the action and the visuals than some of the previous international trailers did, and we can only hope that it convinces a few people to check it out instead of Transformers: Age of Extinction.
