FYI: No Film Junk Podcast This Week

Happy Easter folks! Due to some unfortunate scheduling issues, we will not be recording a new episode of the Film Junk Podcast this week. Since we don’t skip a show very often, I thought it would be best to give everyone a heads up. The good news is that there will be a new Game Junk podcast up shortly and also possibly a new Ball Junk coming later this week. In the meantime, chow down on some chocolate and check out a re-run or a premium, and we’ll be back before you know it. We’re going to do our best to review both Transcendence and The Raid 2 next week so you’ve got that to look forward to.

Around the Web:

  • Reed Farrington

I hope I’m not to blame for no podcast this week. :-)

  • Adamau

Do you know if Reed is interested in seeing Transendence at all? Its been way to long since he has been on!

  • Kasper

No worries, Sean. Have a continued good easter!

Film Junk is so loving to its fans!!!! In the meantime ill Re-Listien to Nymphomaniac reviews and Celebrate Easter.

  • Bas

Shyamalan Premium Podcast for me, Happy Easter guys!

  • Nemuri Kyoshiro

Please tell me you’re going to be on next week episode reviewing the hard ass action film that is The Raid 2?

  • Sean

Reed already answered this question on Facebook:

“Sean did ask me on, but I thought the Transcendence commercial looked hokey, and I declined the invitation. I also haven’t seen the first Raid, yet. I did see a compendium of action scenes from The Raid and wasn’t impressed.”

    So there you go!

  • hotdocs dweeb

Any chance we could get Jay to recommend a few titles of interest for the upcoming hotdocs festival? I want to check something out, but hate going in completely blind.

  • Sean

Sure, we will definitely do a Hot Docs preview of some sort on the next episode.

  • devolutionary

Reed’s a tough nut to crack. Just when you think you have him pegged, he’ll fire another knuckleball at you.

  • kent88

When is the next Tom Cruise movie coming out?

A FilmJunk review of a Tom Cruise film without Reed’s expert opinions on Cruise’s physique and male charisma would be unfathomable and unacceptable.

  • Sam

One I recommended to Jay on Twitter, and would recommend here is Mistaken for Strangers.

It’s available on VOD now, but looks like it will also be at HotDocs.

It’s an intriguing rock documentary about The National, that’s much less about the band than it is the younger brother of the lead singer who directed the movie who is a pretty interesting subject.

  • Reed Farrington

    I verified that I wasn’t misquoted by Sean. :-)

  • Reed Farrington

I watched the trailer for Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow, and it has me intrigued. The fx look awesome; however, his face is beginning to show his age (which is the same as mine).

  • Reed Farrington

I don’t know how to throw a knuckleball.

  • Rohan Michael Morbey

    Tom never ages, Reed. Never.
